Structuring the information in a WIKI is probably the most challenging part. In a WIKI, the information is best stored in a modular fashion. Thus, rather than writing one long text, you should think of how to structure information in modules, such that it is easy to oversee and to digest.

There are various hierarchical levels that you can use to structure a WIKI

• Namespaces – You can think of a namespace as a directory that holds pages but can also contain sub-namespaces. In essence, the wiki structure is similar to a directory tree, with the difference that the individual hierarchically ordered namespaces are separated by a colon : and not by a /.

  Note, the hash tag # identifies the heading in your page

• Pages – They are just like documents that provide the information to the WIKI user
• Headings – They help to structure your pages in a hierarchical manner. Up to three heading levels are displayed by default in the page index. You can append a heading with a hash tag # to the page name. This tells the browser to jump to this heading when the corresponding link is clicked.
